Most of the work I make is conceived in series. This is a method I use so I can learn different things about painting and in turn about reality. The series inform each other as I get to hands-on explore, observe and experience approaches to figurative painting and compare differences in the process and how these may or may not affect my perception of time. Using and achieving saturated color is one of the formal aspects that continues to lead my work. I paint, so I can create into existence and see what I haven’t seen; not in the literal sense but in the pictorial sense. Painting is the definition of freedom. That freedom allows for all kinds of psychic conditions: If you follow intuition you may end up navigating time in both directions; painting others’ paintings you never saw, painting the new beginnings that haven't happen yet. The surprise of what shapes may be brought about with paint gets combined with my going on spelling it out as needed. If In the end I’m getting pretty literal, at least my outcomes are never calculated.
