CRANACH
2009-2013
The Cranach collection, is my tribute to Lucas Cranach the Elder. It responds to a chance encounter with "Portrait of Princess Sybille of Cleves, Wife of Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous of Saxony", from 1526, printed on the cover of an auction house catalogue, found in downtown Manhattan in 2009.
I have made three variations after that painting so far, in two of which I added the world as seen by Homer.
