The Cranach Collection, is my tribute to Lucas Cranach the Elder. It responds to a chance encounter with "Portrait of Princess Sybille of Cleves, Wife of Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous of Saxony" from 1526; printed on the cover of an auction house catalogue found at my collector’s home in The West Village, downtown Manhattan in 2009. I have made three variations after that painting so far, two in which I’ve added “The World as Seen by Homer”.
